engine identification Empty engine identification

can any one help me identify the engine in my 1966 12hp suburban the engine name says craftsman the model no is 143 .622012 the serial no 2164e i think it could be made by tecumseh . is it possible to date the engine from these numbers . i do not think it is the original engine rgds carlo u.k

Carlo,

Serial number 143 .622012 is a Tecumseh HH120.
HH - Horizontal-Heavy Duty (Cast Iron)
120 means 12 horsepower, and yes that would be the correct engine for that tractor.

if you go to www.searspartsdirect.com enter the engine model # you can get some info same for tractor ect
