42" Snow Blade angle controls

Post  JOSH_ on June 16th 2013, 6:33 pm

i have the 42" snow blade but it is missing the levers for adjusting the blade angle from the seat.  Has anybody ever made their own, and if so how did you do it? or, does anybody have one laying around they want to sell?

thanks?

Yes I took a piece of angle iron about 18 inches long cut and bent it to a bout 45 degrees angle and welded it in that position removed the two lower bolts on the frame (right side) just in front of the foot rest and fitted it to the frame, then I drilled two holes first one about two inches above the foot rest and the other about 4 inches above that in the angle iron, I purchased two pieces of steel rod to fit the holes (cant remember the size I think it is 3/Cool
Then I cold bent the rod stock for the latch and fitted it to the lower end and drilled it for a cotter pin then measured the length so it was about 3 inches longer than the distance to the angle iron and bent it into a (T) so I could push it down /forward with my boot. That would unlatch the position lock

Next I did the same with the lower end of the push/pull angle rod. I drilled and fitted it into place. Then I pushed the plow to the left most latch position and left about 10 inches sticking through the outer bolt hole in the angle iron and then bent the end into a loop about 2 inches around so you can put your gloved fingers in it and push or pull it to the desired location. Note the length/distance changes with the up down position of the blade so take that it into account when setting up your bends and your push pull length.

Hope this helps
