Shocks on a ST 10

Post  turk on September 3rd 2014, 11:16 pm

I know this sounds crazy, but has anyone attempted to fabricate a set of shocks, front and back, on a ST 10.
I've got this little ST10 and am in the early stages of of putting a Honda GX 620 engine in it. I have a small slightly rough field in front of my house and the thought crossed my mind that shocks sure would make the mowing a lot smoother if possible. I have a welder and plasma cutter and was just wondering if some kind of brackets could be fabricated that would let the shocks function properly. I'm thinking the front axle might be doable because the axle pivots up and down, but because the transmission in the rear bolts to the rear housing I
can't figure out how and where the shocks would mount to absorb the impact of the rear tires over rough ground. I know this sounds nutty, but wondering if anybody has some thoughts on this, good or bad.

HEY TURK
THAT DOES SOUND CRAZY. WASTE OF TIME AND A GOOD TRACTOR. I AGREE THE BEST BET IS TO GET A LATER MODEL SEAT SPRING THE ONE FOR A PLASTIC GAS TANK,(LONGER WITH MORE FLEX) AND A GOOD SEAT WILL HANDLE THE JOB.
GOOD LUCK
