I have found a guy that has a few blades for suburban tractors. He's not sure weather there regular plows or doZer blades My question is how do you tell the difference. Does anyone have any pictures of each to compare. I'd rather have a doZer for the more heavy pushing any help is appreciated

I don't think there is a difference. The manual for mine says Sears Bulldozer-Snowplow (Model #917.251382).

I believe the difference is this:

Dozer blade does not have any trip spring mechanism.

Snow blade has a spring trip mechanism.

Having run into a solid objects while plowing snow, I wish I did have the trip springs on many occasions. It's not pleasant to eat the steering wheel at full throttle in 3rd high.

That said, most older Sears blades are technically dozer blades. There were a few years near the end of production where there were blades made that had springs. They also had a lock-out feature so you could make it into an official dozer blade if you wanted to. I think I have photos of one on my old hard drive somewhere if nobody else has a photo.

YMMV....this is my theory, not anything factual. :-)
