SS14 attachment question Empty SS14 attachment question

Post  Croth July 12th 2015, 10:19 pm

Hello. Thanks for the great forum! I have learned a lot! Well i obtained a Sears SS14 tractor which i cant seem to find a lot of info on. The tractor is in great running condition. I currently have the single disc attachment and the foot plow attachment. I plan on selling both of these as i have no need for them. I am in need of either the snow blower attachment or the snow Plow. I found a plow for sale locally and it is part number 917 251381. Can anyone verify that it will fit my SS14? Thanks so much!

As a general rule, if the attachment has the U-shaped metal channel that slides in the frame on the front of the Suburban, it will fit. The dozer plows for the Custom tractors have four arms that mount on the tractor.

I looked up 917 251381 on partsdirect.com and it appears to have the U-shaped channel. I also found an Ebay listing (expired) showing a manual for that model number plow and it is shown on a Suburban.

There's no guarantee that it will fit if has been modified or damaged, so the only way to be sure is to try it on your tractor before buying. I've seen quite a few of them hacked up to fit other tractors, so I hope you try it first. The model number is usually on the blade itself, not the mounting area.

The SS-14 was a one-year wonder in 1971. It was the top of the line tractor that year.
