Parked the tractor after changing from snow-blade to mower-deck a week ago. When I started it yesterday it was running but instanley began blowing what seemed like pure gasoline out of a small hose coming out of bottom front of engine. I instantly shut down for fear of fire. what has happened and how can I fix?

Sounds to me like the carb floats might be sticking and dumping fuel pass the rings and into the crankcase. Might be dirt in the needle and seat in the carb. Does it smoke black and run rough? I have a similar problem but mine is oil. If it runs smooth it's very possible your fuel pump diaphram could be bad and letting the gas pass through it.

check the hose to see if it runs to the bottom of the impulse fuel pump. sounds like you have a diaphram blown in the pump and letting gas thru into engine.
