Can solid state ignition be replaced with auto ign

Post  Bearcamp on April 15th 2009, 5:20 pm

Have a 1973 ST-16 and was wondering if the soild state ignition box can be replaced with something else like an auto ignition coil. If so,,,,how is it done as I would hate to have the solid state ignition box go bad and try to find one. Does anyone have pics of theirs changed over?

This website has lots of information about Tecumseh ignitions. It covers both under and over the flywheel triggered ignition systems.
