DINASOUR DUST

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERBODY & A HAPPY NEW YEAR
BEING THE SEARS SITE IS SO QUIET THOUGHT I WOULD CHUNK IN A FEW THOUGHTS. SOMETIME YOU MAY HAVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM THAT IS MINOR & DON'T WANT TO BOTHER FOLKS BY ASKING. YOU WILL BE REALY AMAZED HOW FOLKS LIKE TO SHARE THER OLD SEARS KNOWLEDGE. I REALLY HATE TO SEE A TRACTOR DISSASSEMBLED FOR PARTS BUT THAT IS THE WAY YOU KEEP OTHERS RUNNING. SOMEONE ASKED DO YOU WANT TO BUY ALL THE OLD SEARS TRACTORS & MY ANSWER IS NO BUT SURE WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE TAKEN CARE OF FOR THE FUTURE TO USE, ENJOY OR WHATEVER. GONNA RAMBLE A BIT SO YOU CAN HIT THE DELETE KEY. WIFE & MYSELF STUCK INSIDE SICK SO GOOD TIME TO VISIT. WORKED ON AUTOS & EVERTHING WITH A MOTOR OR WHEELS SINCE 1954, RAISE TWO KIDS OUT OF THE SAME OLD SHOP. STILL HAVE & FULL OF SEARS TRACTORS & PARTS. GOT MY FIRST GT18 SILVER & BLACK IN ABOUT 1985, PARTS WERE STILL AVAILABLE THEN, BUT SOON BECAME NONEXISTANT, STARTED LOOKING FOR A PARTS TRACTOR, FOUND A GT18 YELLOW & WHITE PRETTY ROUGH BUT SOUND PUT DECK BRGS. BELTS A FEW GUARDS SEAT COVER SPENT ABOUT $100 ON PARTS & PARKED THE BLACK & SILVER, GOT STARTER IN DAYLILIES & MOUNTED A SPRAYER ON THE GT18 SILVER, THAT LASTED ABOUT 10 YEARS UNTIL I STEPPED IN A ARMADILLA HOLE & TORE A KNEE TO SMITHERINES, NO MORE GETTING DOWN TO WORK IN THE DIRT. LATE 2010 I CAME BY TWO PEICES OF TRACTORS W/ ONANS ASSEMBLED A RUST BUCKET FROM ALL THE PARTS, HAVE NOW RESTORED, MOTOR & TRANS. GOOD. SOMETIME IN THE WINTER OF 2010 I DECIDED I NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP MY MENTAL & PHYSICAL CONDITION. A LOT OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.
IT SEEMED LIKE A NICE ST16 JUST FELL OUT OF THE SKY, A NICE ST12, A COUPLE OF SS16, A COUPLE OF GT18, AND SO ON NOW AT PRESENT HAVE 18 IN VARIOUS STAGES OF BUILDING, EVERONE ASKS WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH ALL THESE SEARS, DON'T KNOW WILL LET MY BOYS WORRY WITH THAT, AFTER 2 YEARS OF DINASOUR DIRT & RUST, ENJOYED WHAT I WAS DOING LOST 25-30 POUNDS FEEL BETTER IN MY HEAD & BODY, AFTER BURNING UP TWO HARBOUR FREIGHT GRINDERS & $100 WORTH OF GRINDING DISC. A CERAMIC TIP IN SAND BLASTER. I REMEMBERED ABOUT AN ELECTROLYS RUST REMOVING TANK, FOUND A 200 GAL.AG. PALLET TANK CHARGED IT UP & IT HAS NOT BEEN TURNED OFF THIS YEAR POWERED BY A 1950-55 BATTERY CHARGER. I GUESS WHERE THIS STARTED WAS THE FACT YOU CAN LEARN A LOT FROM EXPERIENCE & LOVE TO SHARE. IF YOU ARE STILL HERE HOPE YOU ENJOYED. IN THE SOUTH SEARS ARE HARD TO FIND. HAVE BLESSED HOLIDAYS & NEW YEAR. JIMMY GRIFFIN IN SOUTH GEORGIA.

Yes, I can relate to that. Seventy six years young and have two suburbans and they keep me going. Now installing an electric lift on one. Have large garden and really enjoy doing something I love. This site has helped me a lot. Merry Christmas to all.

Happy New Year to all you Surburbanaholics, from the east coast of Canada. Nova Scotia Actually, even if Bush didn't know where it was, most Americans do know. Jimmy, I would dearly like to hear more about the electrolysis you are using, I've restored the bodies on my SS16, and GT18, and I wore out a lot of brush cones, and grinding discs on my angle grinder, even sent some stuff off with a friend who got it sandblasted while doing frame welding for me, but I don't like to take advantage of his good nature, he does more than enough for me, he just welded the front hanger on my plow, not that we use them a lot in this area for snow. Hope this finds everyone well, or at least upright. Grant Dorcas
