GT 19.9 Twin 917.257080

Hi All,
I guess that my GT 19.9 model 917.257080 with an Onan N52M GA 0199 bought 9/11/78 qualifies as a vintage Sears.
Was running it out of gas a while ago and it did the regular cough, cough, sputter, sputter as it ran out of gas and wouldn't start again. Well, fast forward to today. Have finally gotten the engine to turn, it has compression and got the flywheel off to pull the starter. It appears that the starter is not working quite right. It will engage with the flywheel, but then the shaft will continue to spin without spinning the flywheel. We believe that the drive assembly has been stripped. However, I would like to see if I can find a starter, it is part number 191-1205, the drive assembly part number is 191-1156. Have already checked Onanparts.com and nothing comes up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd think rebuild kits are available. It may just be lack of use on that starter that is giving you grief.
