Thanks for accepting me into your forum. Machine forums have always been worth a mint to me in the past with different machinery. I have a Sears Suburban 12 that looks like the picture at the op of my page, blue and white, three forward speeds with high and low. I bought it in the mid 70's I believe and its been overhauled one time.. I parked it with a starting problem but went back a few years ago and went thru the wiring and it turned over so I put it back together, tried it again and engne wouldn't turn so gave up untill yesterday. I removed the hood, battery box, gas tank and starter generator. I believe a wiring diagram will help but the only one I found wasn't for my tractor. I can't get the full Frame Model number but only last part 2555 and what looks likea G or C,or it could even be a an 0. Serial Number is pretty clear 5681. It is a Tecumsech engine. The engine model is 143-602022, serial number 0061-08357. I am retired and disabled , worked as a mechanic in the early 60's but did factory work for 34 years, lve to work with tools and the garage is my second home. I hope you folks might get me on the right track, this sure has been a grand old tractor. I would like to know the proper way to test the ganerator/starter with a 12 volt battery.

That solved one mystery for me,now if I can get the starter/gen to roll over I will be well on my way to a hard working tractor again. Have a great New Year.
