Custom 8E, 1971 Empty Custom 8E, 1971

I have a 1971 Custom 8E garden tractor in my garage. It was working until about a year ago. A small engine repair expert told me it can be easily fixed and is a collectible. Can anyone tell me more about this? I am not a collector. Does anyone know how much it might be worth? Thanks!
