MY ENGINE IS WORN OUT. IT'S DOWN ON POWER AND BURNING OIL LIKE CRAZY. I CAN'T FIND A REPLACEMENT TECUMSEH H60 ANYWHERE. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ENGINE THAT COULD BE USED WITHOUT TOO MUCH MODIFICATION??

If I were in your situation, I would watch Harbor Freight for their sale on Predator engines. Check out 69730, a 7HP engine. It's on sale now for $119. You may have to drill new holes in the frame, shim the pulley, or use different belt sizes, but in the end you will have a new engine for real cheap. I would get the extended warranty on the engine also.
