Suburban 10 missing drive clutch
Just picked up a 1965 suburban 10 with the blade and mower deck. Pretty complete except the drive for the deck and the pulley with clutch facing and hardware for the transaxle input. The deck drive I can find. Not sure where I can find the transaxle pulley. A lot of work ahead of me to get this old girl working again. Looking forward to the busted knuckles I will try to add some photos as soon as I figure out how from my cell phone

Re: Suburban 10 missing drive clutch
You may have a long search ahead of you. Those parts were the highest wear items in the early Suburban tractors. I have seen a few of those year tractor for sale here and there, but the older Suburban's with the Hi/Lo transmission are much more common. I believe the clutch and throw-out mechanism is the same on the earlier Suburbans (59-64) so you could look for them also. I have some info on how to set up those old clutches for when you get what you need.

Re: Suburban 10 missing drive clutch
Thanks for the reply. I have located the pulleys and facings but not the center hub unit. What all composed the hub that was on the input shaft? Would another brand of tractor have the same setup? Or would it be better to find a hi/lo transaxle?

Re: Suburban 10 missing drive clutch
I've never had a '65, but I assume the clutch is the same as the older ones. Here are a couple pics of the setup.
No other brand of tractor had this clutch that I'm aware of. The Hi/Lo trans will not bolt up to the frame on your tractor. Your transmission is an intregal part of the frame; actually its the back of the tractor where the hitch bolts up to.
Critical parts to make the clutch work: 42, 43, 44, 49 and 50 (1st diagram)
If you can put up some pics of what you have we may be able to figure out what you need. Getting another whole tractor is an option, or keeping your eye on ebay for the parts will work too. It will take time.
