Custom 6 engine help Empty Custom 6 engine help

Post  hottle19 August 31st 2013, 2:54 pm

I recently aquired my past on grandfathers Custom 6. It hasn't ran in over 10 years. But I would like to get it running again and start using it to once again plow my grandmothers garden just like my grandfather did when he was still living. It turns over fine but won't fire. I was told it was always hard to get started when it was used regularly. I pulled the plug and grounded it to the motor and pulled the starter but I didn't see a spark. Which leads me to think its a electrical issue and not a fuel issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Points are probably corroded from sitting, pull the flywheel and install new points and condenser and you should get spark. I run into ignition switches going bad and causing a no spark but since it sat for a long time try the points and condenser first.
