Muffler 1998 Craftsman Garden Tractor 917.258914

I have a 1998 Craftsman Garden Tractor 917.258914 with 1100 hours on it. The Kohler Engine is a CV22 and is rock solid.  The side mounted muffler is getting loud, but not with holes.  I suspect maybe the baffles inside might be going/gone.  I have checked the Sears Parts and Kohler Parts and the muffler and manifold is no longer in production.  I am searching for alternatives or maybe someone has an idea of where I can get one or manufacture one or adapt a new one to this machine. There is a manifold that comes out the bottom and parallels the frame and connects to a Muffler on the right hand side near the right foot pad.  The muffler follows the line of the chassis to the rear.  The exhaust goes to the side.  The muffler is part number 161062 and the manifold is 161230. I am looking for some ideas or direction from the Usergroups.  Well, thanks for any suggestions or ideas or help.
