I have a Suburban with the 16hp Tecumseh engine and I was wanting to replace it with the Harbor Freight 420cc engine. Has anyone did this and what modifications had to be made.

Engine swap Empty ENGINE SWAP

HI
JUST MY OPINION, YOUR REPLIES ON SWAPPING A CHINESE ENGINE INTO A SUBURBAN MAY BE FEW, BECAUSE THIS IS A VINTAGE SEARS SUBURBAN PRESERVATION SITE TO HELP RESTORE AND PRESERVE VINTAGE TRACTORS, PARTS NEW AND USED ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE OH160,NOT ALL THAT EXPENSIVE, YOUR ENGINE IS 40 YEARS OLD, WITH SOME REPAIR IT COULD RUN ANOTHER 30 YEARS, TOO LONG TO THINK ABOUT. STICK A CHINESE ENGINE IN THERE AND IT WILL PROBABLY LAST A COUPLE OF YEARS. I AM DOING TWO OH160 NOW THAT WILL BE RUNNING LONG AFTER I AM GONE.
THANKS ALL FOR READING

I agree where you're coming from I have 2 restored now but was wanting to fix one up for my wife to ride around our land she has Parkinson's. The reason I posted it was because I had a new Chinese motor along with 2 Honda 13hp ones. I was just wanting to use one of them to get her something to ride at near no cost to me other than labor. I went ahead and done the swap looks almost original, lol.
