I bought a rebuild kit for the vacuum fuel pump. There is a vacuum hose from the engine to the bottom of the pump and a fuel hose hooked to one of the side hose connections on the pump. The side top hose connection appears to be left open. Is this correct? Thanks.

on both of mine 1 was left open an i rebuilt both more than onceended putting on electric pump more power an never starves out
