I just acquired this one and am not having much luck finding any information, a manual or anything on it. It runs pretty well but the belts won't stay on. Any sources for a manual. etc. ?

Possibly a 1976 ST 12??

Please give more information regarding the problem with the belts. Which belt? Drive or mower?

Most belt problems usually can be traced to two issues: Wrong size or improper (missing) belt guide placement.
