Laminated rear counterweight
Shown is a back weight I made from 1/2" thick steel plates sheared to 11"x12" square. I tapped out the 2 lower
holes in the frame for 1/2"-13 bolts. I shaved the heads off in the lathe of a couple of 6 inch long bolts and
double nutted them to the frame; these formed the studs on which the plates could slide over.
The upper bolts (5-1/2" long) fit into the existing tapped holes.
It worked out much easier than trying to lug a solid block up there (about 140 lbs.)
Thanks,
Joe K

Hello,
I use web photo sharing site to upload my pictures to (there are lots of free sites available). Your photos can then be downloaded to
any website or forum. It takes a little tinkering to figure it out the first couple times...
Thanks,
Joe

Very nice counterweight. I like how compact it is. Here's a pic of the one I made a few weeks back. It's about 100lbs.

RE: Rear laminated counterweight
Hello,
Pretty neat fabrication!
I like the replacement rear tires; are those on the original rims?
Thanks,
Joe K

The counterweight doubles as a nice stool too when it's mounted on the tractor. The tires are Carlisles. As far as I know they are the original rims. The weights mounted to them are from a Simplicity I think. The tires were on the tractor when I bought it this summer.
