tractor identification

hi everyone, newbie here so bear with me. Im trying to find out what tractor i have. its been painted green with no decals. Only number i can find is on deck-917253151. where else do i look or how can i find out. Was told it has a 16 hp tecumseh. has the split rail grill. is it a super , ss, st or custom?

The original paint scheme can help you determine (up to a point) the year. Scrape through and compare color schemes to photos. Also, you can google different model years and compare that way with images, perhaps.
