Charging issues....bad regulator Empty Charging issues....bad regulator

I was having trouble keeping the battery charged, especially after running with headlights on. Had a good 28 volts a/c coming from stator, but the d/c volts out of the regulator were erratic and fluctuating. An exact replacement was $195 or more, found a replacement was $28 on ebay. Runs great. Lots of d.c. volts now.
