Starter/generator ss14
Hi all, I am new to this forum but would appreciate any help I can get. I have a 1970 SS14 tractor with a Briggs and Stratton motor. The starter portion of the starter/generator is not turning over to the proper speed. I have used a multi-meter to check armature and think it may be haywire. Does anyone know where I can get another starter/generator new or used. Are there any ones out there that will be compatible? Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks a lot, Bob

Re: Starter/generator ss14
Your best option would be to look for a local rebuild shop. This problem is not uncommon & it might be hard to find a viable replacement. I found local shops several times to do the job. Look for electric motor/starter rebuilders in the yellow pages (or online).
