REPLACE STARTER
REPLACING A STARTER ON A SEARS SUBURBAN IS A FAIRLY EASY TASK, FIRST REMOVE TWO OR BOTH FLYWHEEL SCREENS THEN REMOVE THE FLYWHEEL BLOWER COVER SHEET METAL,NOT FLYWHEEL,BIG ROUND THINGY, THEN THE STARTER IS VISABLE ROUND BEHIND THE FLYWHEEL, WELL NEED AN ASSORTMENT OF 1/2" OPEN AND BOX END WRENCHES, ONLY TAKES ONE OF THE RIGHT LENGTH AND CURVES, TWO 5/16" BOLTS WITH 1/2" HEADS HOLD THE STARTER ON, THEN THE STARTER DROPS OUT BOTTOM, THAT IS AFTER THE CABLE HAS BEEN REMOVED, THE STARTER HAS A SLOTTED MOUNT HOLE, LOOK CLOSE FOR ADJUSTING CLEARANCE TO FLYWHEEL TEETH, SEARCH BACK THROUGH THE OLD POST AND YOU WILL FIND ALL KIND OF INFORMATION, NOT SAYING IT IS ALL WORTH READING. REBUILDING THE OLD STARTER OR REPLACING, MOST TIME ONLY NEED BRUSHES AND GREASING, (HINT) A SMALL SQUIRT BOTTLE OF GAS STORED NEAR TRACTOR AND A SQUIRT DOWN CARB. WILL SAVE A STARTER AFTER SETTING A WHILE.OR A SPRAY CAN OF START FLUID.
GOOD LUCK
