what tractor do i have

I just bought a tractor that is painted orange and white. It has no markings on the hood, no head lights. I was told it was a Roper Tractor. Did Sears make a Roper? I can't find a serial # on the tractor. Should there be a tag by the shifter, like on my SS12? If not, where would the tag be? I'm not sure what i have, is there some other way besides the serial # to tell what I have and the year. Thanks for the help, Rick
