SS16 No Start/No Spark
OK, I lied the tractor is really a Roper RT16T but it is pretty interchangeable.
Was running as fine as ever. Put it away in the barn. Next time out it cranks, but will not fire. It is getting fuel. I cannot get any spark at either plug.
I was running it with a PointSaver device. That was disconnected and system returned to stock with condenser. No Change. Points look in good shape and appear to be conducting/breaking as they should confirmed by the PointSaver LED and a continuity check when setting timing after removing PointSaver.
I am getting voltage to + of the coil in run and start position. Primary and secondary resistance of the coil both check within Onan specs.
I haven't found any shorts to ground in the wiring. There is no continuity between any ignition wire and ground.
I swapped in an ignition switch from a running tractor. No Change. Returned.

From what I can tell the two safety switches are working correctly. They prohibit any crank when engaged just as they should. I don't think they do anything to ignition system; just inhibit starter.
I don't know what else to check. Any suggestions appreciated.
thanks

Re: SS16 No Start/No Spark
Silly thing fixed itself. I disconnected/reconnected and checked everything I could think of. The tractor regained spark and runs just great again. It has all the same parts it did when I started. It reagained spark and started running after I re-installed the battery I had taken out in order to check for shorts in the dash wiring. Didn't find any shorts.
I hope it lasts.
Explanations appreciated
